"Really Real" is an exhibition of art and things organized like a game of telephone.Essentially Cream Co., a fluid collective including artists, solicited a group of artists to brainstorm and create a show which would raise questions about ways we categorize art and things and the distinction between what's real and what's not.

Members of the original group suggested a variety of ideas and types of things from hoax objects to artists' collections, paintings, children's costumes and books. In turn, the things generally addressed a variety of subjects and artists began requesting others to contribute art and things relating to the various subjects. Ultimately, the exhibition celebrates the connectedness among persons and things inherent in the process of producing a group show, the role of translation inherent in meaning, and the location of art in transitory moments and unintended consequences.
