Calling urban gardeners, green thumbs and neighbors,

On Sunday June 8 at Theaster Gates’ Archive House, Cream Co. opens General Economy, Exquisite Exchange (G.E.E.E.), a garden/culture exchange where neighborliness is the operative currency.

Tomato seedlings, vegetable seedlings, herbs and plants will be available for sale or exchange. Gardening tips available from 2-6.

G.E.E.E. is a neighborly exchange where the community is invited to exchange indoor and outdoor gardening and art materials (seeds, houseplants, pencils, paints); immaterial support (dialogue, advice, recipes, poems); and inanimate pleasures (books, musical instruments, records).

Bring a poem and exchange it for a tomato seedling, a musical instrument for a pack of seeds, a book for a beautiful new plant. Writing supplies, poetry, writing skills books, blank journals, and all things musical would be especially welcomed.

All plants will be available for exchange or at wholesale prices set by neighbors. All proceeds benefit the Rebuild Foundation (not-for-profit).

Learn how to grow tomatoes with tomatoes planted by G.E.E.E. in the Archive House garden. Find answers to your gardening questions from G.E.E.E. gardeners.
